Google Maps is a mapping service that is still leading in the top rank because of the support and services a diverse, but Google Maps also reap a lot of criticism for not having a navigation service offline. Today Google rolled out a new update the Maps application, where they optimize navigation services offline.
This update was first available for the Android platform and then it will soon be available for iOS. Unlike Nokia Here the use offline maps in full, the latest Google Maps only use part of the map that has been downloaded previously. Google Maps just download location nearest region of your location, so it does not take up much space in the memory.
As proclaimed Phone Arena, Tuesday (10/11/2015) by default, the Maps application will update the digital map database every 15 days and an update will be made when the device is connected to the charger and connected to a WiFi network.
In addition to the navigation service offline, a new Maps also provides offline search. Some interesting information can still be enjoyed as a store operating hours, contacts, and the star rating is also still available even though there is no internet connection.
With the presence of offline navigation service, Google Maps users no longer need to worry about getting lost despite not having internet connection on the road. Although it still has its limitations, but Google's efforts also should be appreciated.
